The rich colours you have chosen for the outer petals of the hexie do a marvellous job of setting off the embroidery pieces. I noticed it again recently in Material Obsession 2, where there are two different quilts made with the same block. I'm hoping my next plan for them will work out better. But there are so many things to do before then! The beautiful rose china is a wonderful inspiration, but being able to execute the complexity of the roses with the very pastel colors would certainly have been a challenge. I always admire pastel quilts, but the few times I have attempted it, they have fallen flat. Not enough contrast somehow. This also keeps me from diving head first into Japanese taupes. They take more finesse than I have. Anyway, your blocks combining embroidery and patchwork just sing!Mary Ellenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04066177625064170284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-777082361967445123.post-57819393026630778092013-11-05T19:25:13.731-05:002013-11-05T19:25:13.731-05:00Thanks so much, Linda! Thanks so much, Linda!Monicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12224346283881001640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-777082361967445123.post-28859292331241985902013-11-05T18:20:42.665-05:002013-11-05T18:20:42.665-05:00Glad you had a happy ending.
