I know there are many quilters who never met a purple fabric they didn't like, but somehow when I am at the store I never come home with anything purple. It is like a blind spot! The final straw was this week, when I was searching my embroidery floss stash for purple thread, and there were only two in the whole box! I want to use some purples in Best Friends Forever, so today I hit the store. My main purpose was just to buy floss, but of course I came home with fabric too:
This is all from Art of Fabric in Pickering, Ontario. Fortunately the owner is a big fan of purple!
I think these will be perfect. Now that they've had their "beauty shot," it's time to throw them in the wash!
some nice fabrics here to add to your stash. See you use stranded cotton, not a thread I use , should do though as I have a large collection of DMC.I like to work with just one strand and it is a bit fine,
ReplyDeleteThanks Margaret. Since I discovered the loop knot, I use two strands for pretty much everything. I'll even look for ways to adapt patterns so I can still use two strands!
DeleteThat's a lovely bundle to come home with!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rachael! I hope to put it to good use. :)
DeleteYou know it was hard to find just the right purples for Grace's puff quilt. I still have to wait until we decide exactly what she would like for borders before I can finish it lol. Purples are hard to find.
ReplyDeleteYou had some great fabrics in that quilt, Katherine! Around here, I think there are lots of purples available, I just don't tend to notice them.
DeleteIn for a penny, in for a pound, I say! Now you can work up a plethora of purple projects. I'm partial to purple. I tend not to notice yellows.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, Jillian. Now that I have this perceived "need" for purple, I see it everywhere!
