Orange Turkey

Turkey à la Orange? I guess that's usually duck.

Anyway...it's back to Bonnie Hunter's Talkin' Turkey blocks and my RSC17 project, Technicolor Turkey.

It's actually about six weeks since I worked on this project, and it was fun to get back to it today. The oranges sure are juicy, aren't they?

And I guess orange represents Florida this week too. Prayers and best wishes for everyone who is hunkered down or getting out before Irma comes ashore tonight.

I know there are a lot of bloggers and families of bloggers living in Florida, including the RSC organizer Angela. So click the link here and wish everyone well!

  2. My heart is heavy and I cannot focus on quilting today what with Irma bearing down on so many good friends, several of whom have stayed behind. We spend the winter there in our home so it adds another layer to my worry but at least we aren't there ourselves. Love your turkey blocks. Nice to meet another Great Lakes Quilter to the north of me!

  11. Equally interesting are the neutrals in those blocks, helping to set off the orange. Love the way the squiggly pattern show up a bit like snatches of code.

    1. Thanks again, Jillian! To me, that is why prints are the most fun for quilts. They are never perfectly controlled, and there's always some interesting happy accident to give another layer of meaning.

    1. OMG, I hate it when my own blog eats my comments! Thanks, Terry! What I said was that it seems like this project has been going a long time, but it's actually only a few months. I guess it's been pretty engrossing, and I think that's a good thing!

  16. My favorite color. I love what you are doing with the turkey blocks. Here all the way up in the Midwest we got a tiny bit of Irma in the form of threee days of high humidity, fog, overcast skies, and some rain. Sunny skies today, though!

I'm told Blogger has been bouncing some comments, so if it happens to you I'm sorry! But the settings look right so I can't explain it. In any case, thanks for reading!
