Goofy Fun

...West Covinaaaa...

Did you see the series premiere of Crazy Ex Girlfriend this week? Love it! I would not have watched it if I'd known it was a musical, but I'm glad I didn't know. When that first song came out of left field, I was already hooked. It is so well done, and the lead actor Rachel Bloom just owns it.

A workaholic who moves to California is a character I found easy to relate to. :D Now I keep singing that song!

Otherwise, I'm still in a "get it done" frame of mind, so I pulled out another UFO this week. The first block has been finished for quite a while:

Ack, since June 2014! Longer than I thought. Today I finished up the remaining seven yellow stars, which made me think of the Pleiades (Seven Sisters). I tried to lay it out, but I don't know how successful it was. Anyway, the real experiment will be the setting, so I'm keen to get the red parts done so I can move on to the next phase. Onwards!

  1. Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving out Toronto way. (Too bad laps around the sewing machine don't equate with laps around the gym). I'll choose the sewing machine any day over the gym:)

Turkey talk aside, the colours of your fabrics in these star blocks are striking. Impressive star points as well. You go girl. You will get it done and it will be beautiful.

    1. Thank you! Yes, we are still eating leftovers.

Despite all the rehab I've tried to do on this quilt, it still is pretty dubious. But yes, it will be striking!

  3. After I watched the video, I got sidetracked trying to find the show. Finally did and have the recorder set up.

  4. I agree with Margaret about the pointiness of the star - also like the subtlety of the red fabrics. We are not yet blessed with the show.

    1. Thanks, Jillian! I'm sure that not every US show makes it to Australia. But, considering we were just treated to two seasons of Please Like Me here in Canada, I think that this show would be well received there. We'll see!

  5. I hadn't heard of the show either. Looks fun. Your star looks great and so nice and pointy and perfectly put together.

I'm told Blogger has been bouncing some comments, so if it happens to you I'm sorry! But the settings look right so I can't explain it. In any case, thanks for reading!
